The famous photographer Chase Jarvis once said:
“The best camera is the one that’s with you”.
Friends that ask me which camera to buy always get this saying as an answer. It’s an exciting experience taking photos of newly discovered landscapes, people, objects, and anything your eye might consider notable when traveling.
My photography equipment “to go” is always the minimum required.

Essentials:
- Camera
- Lens(es)
- 2nd battery
- Charger
- ND filters
- Cleaning cloth
- 2 SD cards
The rest of the list has to do with the destination, the nature of my trip, and the free time I will have there.

Therefore I’m always checking the following list in order to decide what is needed:
- Tripod
- Speedlight
- Reflector
- Softbox
- Speedlight/softbox tripod
- Props
If I were to provide a tip during your stay at your trip’s exciting destination I would suggest that you always carry your camera, make sure there’s a memory card inside, and the battery is charged.
